SHARED BY CHOICE
Your information.
Your say.
This is the private calendar and announcements app for Emmaus, the youth community at Union Chapel in Vancouver, Washington. Sign in to request access; an administrator approves membership before group content becomes available.
What we collect
Your sign-in email, display name, membership role, and the moments you choose to submit. Birthday sharing is optional and uses only month and day. We don’t ask for your birth year or address. You may optionally add a phone number and subscribe to announcement texts. We record subscription choices, confirmation evidence, and text delivery history.
Site activity
When enabled, this app stores page names, visit times, and a temporary session identifier in our existing database. Visits by signed-in accounts are linked to the account so administrators can review site usage. Anonymous sessions expire after 30 minutes of inactivity. We retain activity for up to 90 days during normal collection; older records are purged on the next collection or report request. We do not collect query strings, login links, IP addresses, or form contents for analytics. Only administrators can view activity. Browsers sending Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control are excluded.
Who can see it
You and group leaders can see your submissions before approval. Approved events are visible to active group members. Administrators can see the name and verified email of people requesting access. New accounts cannot see group content until approved. There is no public student directory.
Groups and announcements
Public groups are discoverable by approved app members. Invite-only groups require an invitation. Members can read announcements for their current groups; general announcements are available to all approved members. Administrators manage groups and announcements. Group leaders can invite people using their email addresses.
Text login
You can separately verify a phone number for sign-in from your account. Login links expire after 10 minutes and work once. Our configured texting provider or email-to-text gateway receives the number and link to deliver your requested message. Turning off announcement subscriptions does not disable requested login texts; use Disable text login in your account. Stopped numbers receive no texts. Changing your number requires verification again.
Text messages
Texting is optional and the web inbox works without a phone number. Only you and administrators managing texting can access your number. The selected texting service receives your number and message when delivering texts. We record opt-in choices and support opt-out in your account or through the texting service. Leaving a group stops its future texts. Messages already sent or copied to a provider cannot be recalled. Ask an administrator to help with STOP or HELP requests during manual delivery.
Your optional sharing choices
Room-display sharing and calendar downloads are separate, unchecked choices on each submission. A room display can be seen or photographed by people nearby. Calendar downloads create copies outside this app.
Change your mind
Open My submissions to edit or remove a moment. Editing sends it back for review. Removing it withdraws it from the hub and future downloads, but cannot erase screenshots or previously downloaded copies.
Keep private matters private
Avoid home addresses, contact details, medical information, or confidential requests in submissions. Speak with a trusted leader directly for private follow-up.
Services and account removal
Supabase stores accounts, groups, announcements, subscription preferences, and delivery records; an email provider delivers sign-in codes. Vercel hosts the app. Phone subscription information is used to deliver church announcements, not sold for advertising. Ask a leader to revoke access or arrange account and information deletion.
